The 2012 Olympics has had an impact on many, but none more so than with our company as we were sitting under one of the new London stadiums! At the end of 2006 the company was thus relocated into a 30,000 sq ft factory in Dagenham with extensive room to expand further. This gave K & D Joinery the ideal opportunity to create a new factory complex, and at the same time to invest in the latest technology.

The benefits of the new facility were immediately apparent and work flows are now ideal for manufacture of our diverse product ranges. Handling is improved throughout the process, and our finishing systems are one of the best.

We took the opportunity at the same time to invest in a new CNC machine which gives us greater flexibility, while at the same time offering more accurate and better quality to the finished product. The ability to transfer information direct from the customer via our technical department to this machine reduces errors and improves lead times. Our joiners and technical staff have embraced this technology, whilst combining it with the traditional methods to provide a most thorough and diverse service to our customers.

The incorporation of a wood fired boiler for the factory has reduced energy consumption and the need for substantial waste into landfill. Our strategic review, allowed us to gain substantial assistance from the Carbon Trust, and as a consequence we have focused on minimising our impact on the environment.
