Highly acclaimed at the British Woodworking Federation Annual Awards Ceremony 2008

This wooden facsimile of a World War 2 V2 rocket was hugely acclaimed by Members of the British Woodworking Federation, at their annual dinner in November. This is not the first project for the artist Paul Fryer who trained with Damien Hurst, but it is the largest at 47 feet and 3 tonnes!

This was manufactured totally by K & D Joinery with the main frame being constructed from Certified plywood, the body also from plywood and the outer skin from Maple veneer, having three coats of tinted lacquer applied to the surface.

This piece was exhibited at All Saints Church, Marylebone as part of the London Frieze week, during October 2008. The exhibition was promoted by Joe La Placa of All Visual Arts and Mike Platt of BlueCrest, and was a particular success with the missile selling for a reported £175,000.
